Character Flaw Reference Sheet by AnikaandAj Character Flaw Reference Sheet by AnikaandAj
I have seen so many Oc attempts that fall flat because their strengths overpower the amount of flaws. They would always use an excuse that they couldn't think of any flaws to use and this was born. Voila!

Tell me if it helped you in the comments below.

Thank you!  I'm among the worst at being afraid to give my heroes any flaws (or fears), feeling like that would turn them into villains, instead.  Your lists are very helpful.

I tend to make characters who's qualities are also flaws... Let's say, a character who is very conscientious, but is old-schooled and full of strong prejudices, or one that is very reliable and devoted, but is to complient and lets everyone use him as a doormat. I think the key to good characters is to mingle flaws with qualities so they become indistinguishable from one another, but such a sheet can clearly be very useful to pinpoint which qualities to flaw.

Been trying to avoid going heavy on positive traits, but now I'm concerned that it may have fliped.  How do I know when it is too many faults:positives?

Usually when balancing out the flaws and positives I do two more flaws than I would put positive traits.

Assertiveness can be a positive attribute. Its the opposite of being shy actually, where you aren't scared to speak your mind or so. It just kinda depends on your definition of the word
